Feminist Fighters Rally Against State Violence in Geneva NY on International Women's Day

(WXIR-Rochester) Last Sunday, feminist fighters shut down streets across the world on International Women's Day.

Domestic violence, state violence, abortion rights, and equal pay were among the issues that demonstrators lifted up during their day of action.

Here in Western/Central New York, people converged on the small city of Geneva to call attention to a case of state violence currently on trial in their own backyard, among other issues.

WXIR's Darien Lamen spoke with organizers Hannah Dickinson and Penny Hankins of the Geneva Women's Assembly to find out more about what brought people into the street for International Women's Day.
